Panchakarma is Ayurveda’s primary purification and detoxification treatment.
It means ‘five therapies’, which are used to clean the body of toxic materials left by disease and poor nutrition. These five unique procedures are intended to intensively cleanse and restore balance to the body mind and emotions. You will also learn how to create and apply plant medicinal formulation and herbal decoction.
The main benefit of panchakarma includes digestive fire increases, diseases are alleviated, health restore and maintain, all sense organs function properly, mind an intellect work properly, shine of the skin improves, strength increases, person becomes capable of getting good progeny, sexual power increases, aging process is delayed and the person enjoys disease-free healthy life. Every individual requires purification from time to time.

Courteous and respectful behavior, attitude and speech is required at all times. The establishing of a proper meditative environment is an essential component to all Ayurvedic treatments.
Objective:
To learn the art of Ayurvedic massage panchakarma therapy that aims to detox, revive and heal the body and mind. Using herbal decoctions and manual hands-on movements with manipulation of the soft tissues, muscles and energy in the body, ayurvedic panchakarma therapy works to promote healing through detoxification.
Content:
Ayurvedic massage has a long history as a part of Ayurveda treatments. It is unique in the sense that it is the only system of massage which is done according to the theory of primordial elements and bio humors and it is done as per the particular constitution of the patient for balancing the life energies. With massage the circulation of the blood and plasma is increased it can stimulate and strengthen the lymphatic system, remove internal waste products and can open the flow of prana or life forces in the body.
Traditionally, massage according to Ayurveda, includes oil that provides specific benefits for vata, pitta and kapha.
Appropriate oil should be selected with the understanding of the doses. Before doing oil massage one must know his constitution, Vata people need oil massage daily, Pitta people need massages with correctly applied oil to enhance the natural luster of their skin, nourish their muscles, and calm their reactive nervous system. Kapha people need massage to improve their circulation and lymph drainage. Their skin and flesh are strong and thick. Hence they need deep tissue penetrating massage. This module will also encompasses other rejuvenation therapies such as Shirodhara, Vasti, Piz Chill, Pinda sweda, Udawarthara, Tarpana, Gandusa.
Nasya is the procedure in which medications are administered through the nostril in order to purify the head and neck region. The regular use of Nasya can help prevent the diseases of ear, nose, throat and head. Especially effective for treating hair fall and graying of hair. Nasya controls all doshas in the region of the head as well as the centres of sense organ and motor organs situated in the head, hence it is useful in the treatment of various disorders like headache, migraine, facial paralysis, hemiplegic and aphasia
Is the main treatment for Vata disorders. However, it is useful in diseases of Pitta and kapha as well as for vitiation of all Doshas together and the vitiation of blood also. Basti can be given with many different combination of herbs and other substances like oil, milk, honey, salt, broth, herbal paste, etc
Downward elimination of vitiated doshas or waste products is known as Virechena. To eliminate Pitta, Virechena is the best treatment. The aim of this treatment is to stimulate vitiated doshas from the stomach, small intestine, liver and gall bladder, and bring them to the gastro-intestinal tract for their eventual expulsion from the body through rectum.
In this procedure excess and vitiated doshas are removed from the upper part of the body with herbal emetic substances for the purpose of eliminating vitiated Kapha and Pitta.

Materials & Resources:
All instructional materials will be provided. Materials to start your own practice may involve the following: a massage table, oils or creams, towels and sheets, a pillow, oil warmer, towel warmer. Medical-style uniforms are suggested, allowing for flexibility and motion.* Details for acquiring necessary materials for your practice will be discussed in the course.

All courses have required readings, homework and successful completion of practical and theory exams.Each module will consist of
Attendance of over 85% is required for all courses. In the case of absences, it is at the teacher’s discretion whether the missed classes have to be re-taken.
*There will be an internship period where students are required to work under the supervision of one of our experienced Panchakrama specialist.
